Francesco Fabris is an Italian, Reykjavík-based interdisciplinary artist, experimental composer, and musician working with audiovisual pieces, live electronics, multimedia installations, and recording studio productions as a producer and engineer.
His practice explores the translation of natural environments into abstract sonic and visual forms, often filtered through digital and machine-driven processes, investigating the tension between expansive macrostructures and fragile, microscopic materialities. His aesthetic arises from an engagement with field recording, acoustic ecology, sound physics and synthesis, audio spatialization, and data sonification as compositional tools. His projects span a diverse set of ecological and anthropogenic contexts, including glacial and volcanic terrains, rainforest and marine ecosystems, industrial environments, and astronomical phenomena.
Fabris has released via labels including Bedroom Community, Room40 (VAKNING, Meradalir w/ Ben Frost, STILL~AEOLIAN w/ Sandro Mussida), INNI and Until Riots.
